Some art criticals have described this change as a reaction against my previous work. And the truth is that the plastic and emotive aspects that I explore at this moment are indeed those that are absent in my former paintings: urban subjects in opposition to gardens and nature. Twilights instead of intense morning sunlight. Dense and dark shades in opposition to transparent ones. An extensive use of grays and browns in opposition to the purity of coloring of the previous works. Feelings of intimist melancholy in contrast with the joy of the spring diurnal sunlight…
